Well If You really want to work from home I hope that You have also considered the downsides ! The reason I say this is because I have been working from home now since October 2006 and boy oh boy did I have some fun initially with my Wife - (Not!).
It wasn’t her fault, bless her, She just wasn’t use to having me around the house but at the same time not being able to ask me to just do this or just help her with that. I am sure that You get the picture. So after Months and Months of re-training her (hope that she doesn’t get to read this……..”Shush”) we finally got to an understanding that even though I am at home - Yes I’m still at work.
I can understand where Julie (The Wife) was coming from because hey when You are employed in the dreaded J.O.B. atleast You tend to have set hours. A different story when all of a sudden You are working for Yourself and the buck stops here as it were. I am sure that if You have been through the switch to any degree, then You will already have experienced working twice as hard and twice as long. If You have not made the move yet then please be more prepared than we were.
That being said I wouldn’t have it any other way now, the usual multiple reasons eg. let other people suffer the traffic, not havingĀ to get a shave let alone get dressed if I don’t want to on any particular day. Along side not being answerable to anybody else other than my own conscience. Yes I do actually get a shave because it makes me feel more worklike and better in myself, hell Yes I do even get dressed some days…lol.
In short You can “Bring in the lifestyle You deserve” but be prepared to make sacrifices in the initial stages. I would love to hear Your story/comments.
